My Story

I believe that regardless of your race or hair type, each one of us have beautiful hair in a unique way. I started LoLo's HairCare because I believe that our products can help you love on your hair, as well as help you reach your maximum hair goals.

A few years ago, I decided to go natural because of a simple conversation with a coworker. She challenged me and asked me a question on why do I choose to glorify a euro-centric beauty look versus an afro-centric beauty look. I was not aware of this, so I decided to research on it. After my research, I decided that my hair was enough and that I am beautiful the way my creator made me. I cut off all my hair, and went natural. I quickly realized though, that I was not equipped with the right knowledge or products to take care of my natural hair.

Like many of us, I resorted to wearing wigs, braids, and protective hairstyles. My hair was growing, but it was not retaining any length. I was not taking care of my natural hair underneath all of those styles. Although my hair grew; it would be dry, brittle, and break off. For the life of me I could not understand my hair type. I did not understand why it always shrinked or reverted when wet. I did not understand the dryness and overall, I felt like I couldn't deal with my hair.

So, I continued keeping my hair natural, but kept on wearing wigs, braids, and protective styles. December 2019, I decided to wear my natural hair. My sister helped me with a braid out, but unlike her hair. Mine would shrink back to my scalp. I got frustrated, took a flat iron and tried to straightened the hair to keep it at it's true length. I did some style with a wand a few times, and also died it. What happened to me next was the beginning of LoLo's Haircare.

All of my hair fell off!!! I had patches of places with no hair on my scalp. I felt like a complete failure. Here I was after 4 years of chopping off my hair and I was back to square 1. I decided in January 2020 that this would never happen to my hair again. I begin to research all hair types, learned about type 4 hair in particular. I researched how to make my own products in order to grow my hair and to keep it nourished and moisturized. 

Within 6 months, I produced 5 inches of new hair growth and everyone began to ask me what I was doing. I shared my products with them and they would give me money to make some for them. My husband saw a vision and expressed to me that I could help many more women around the world. We started selling the products to people in need of growing and taking care of their hair. My passion grew for educating women with type 4 hair on how to really love, nourish, and take care of their hair.

That's it folks! Out of our passion for helping others with their beautiful hair came a business. It was never my intention, but I am grateful for the opportunity to help and serve all types of people grow and take care of their beautiful hair.
